Dr. Pan Weixiang, a senior alumnus of Teachers College of Columbia University, and Mr. Yu Hanyu, a famous Chinese landscape painter, joined hands to bring a cultural feast across time and space to the audience with poetry as the guide and calligraphy as the rhyme. During the performance, Dr. Pan Weixiang presented a seven-character poem entitled "Dedicated to Columbia University, My Alma Mater" with deep affection. The poem is full of his deep feelings for his alma mater, and describes the memories of his school days in beautiful language, as well as his sincere admiration for the profound academic spirit of Columbia University. Mr. Yu Hanyu splashed ink and turned the rhythm of the poem into flowing lines under his pen, making calligraphy glow with unique vitality on the stage. On the stage, the pen moved like a dragon, the fragrance of ink filled the air, and the poetry and calligraphy blended, showing the audience the profound heritage of traditional Chinese art. Mr. Yu Hanyu presented the calligraphy works written on the spot to Ms. Roberta Albert, the vice president, which implies the inheritance and exchange of culture and also adds the most symbolic meaning to this performance full of artistic charm.
